First i will tell you the definition of Past Tense

 Past tense is a form of the verb used to talk about things that happened in the past.

Understanding Simple Past Tense

Simple Past tense is a form of tense that describes an event that occurred at a specific time in the past.

The formula for simple past tense sentences (S + Verb 2 + O)

Example

1. She joined the English club class at school yesterday.  
2. I was born in Surabaya.
3. Last Monday, Joni got in an accident at the office

Understanding Present Perfect Tense

Present Perfect Tense is a tense which describes an event that occurred before a specific time in the past but still continues today. 

The formula for Present Perfect Tense ( S + have / has + Past participle (+),  S + have / has + not + Past participle (-),  Have / has  + S + Past participle(?) )

 Example  

1. She has worked in the hospital for six years

2. Has she worked in the hospital for six years?

3. She hasn’t worked in the hospital.
